Men's Soccer suffers 2-1 road loss on late Austin College goal


MELISSA, Texas -- The Texas Lutheran Men's Soccer team suffered a 2-1 road loss Sunday afternoon at the hands of Austin College in Melissa, Texas. 

The 'Roos' Xander Spurlock opened scoring 10 minutes into the game, scoring a 5 yd punch from Phillip Le into the left side of the goal. 

The score remained 1-0 for AC through the second half until Luis Green put the Bulldogs on the board in the 57th minute with an assist from Cameron Townes. This was the only shot on goal for the Bulldogs.

Brendan Soto for TLU held strong in between the posts making four saves for the Bulldogs keeping the game tied up. 

AC's Le scored the game winning goal with about three minutes left to play in the second half. The shot was assisted by Victor Monsivais. 

TLU returns to action Friday with their second matchup versus the 'Roos. The Bulldogs host AC at Gustafson Field at 5 p.m. Live video and stats will be available for the contest at tlubulldogs.com.
