Texas Lutheran Remains in Fifth Place at SCAC Championships

LAKE WHITNEY, Texas -- The Texas Lutheran men's golf team recorded a second round score of 22-over par (310) to remain in fifth place after the second day of the 2024 SCAC Championships at White Bluff Golf Resort. Texas Lutheran sits in a tie with Centenary with a 36-hole score of 45-over (311-310).

Junior Tobey Wills (Richmond/Foster) birdied three holes in his second to card six-over par in his second round on Monday to sit in a tie for eighth place with a 36-hole score of 8-over (152) entering Tuesday's final round.

The nationally ranked Schreiner Mountaineers (+23) hold an eight stroke lead over second place Trinity (+31) and an 11-stroke lead over St. Thomas (+34).

Freshman Tyler Givilancz (Schertz/Clemens) joins Wills in the top 15 - rising two spots to sit in a tie for 14th place after 36 holes. A six-over second round from Givilancz placed the freshman at 11-over over two rounds. Fellow freshman Johannes Chang (Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia/Tenby International School) also rose two spots to sit in 26th place after two rounds, shooting seven-over in the second round to sit at 17-over for the tournament. Luke Friedeck (Cibolo/Clemens) finished round two in 27th, finishing the day at 18-over for the tournament.

The SCAC Championships continue with the third and final round tomorrow, April 23. Texas Lutheran will be paired with Dallas and Centenary for Tuesday's final round with tee times beginning at 8:30 AM. All streaming and live stats links will be available on tlubulldogs.com.
