Men's Golf Finishes Fifth in The Whitney
WHITNEY, Texas -- The Texas Lutheran men's golf team earned a fifth place finish at The Whitney on Tuesday at White Bluff Resort in Whitney, Texas.
The Bulldogs closed the event with a round of 367 with a 36-hole total of 637, 61-over par. University of Dallas won the event with a 607 tally, Trinity was second with a team score of 622 at the par-72 course.
Trinity University's Jacob Mason posted a 1-under total of 143 to claim first-place - winning the event by four strokes.
Sophomore Tobey Wills (Richmond/Foster) finished eighth overall with a 9-over par total of 153.
Senior Chandler Otto (Round Rock/Cedar Ridge) and sophomore Caleb Kruse just missed the top 15, with both tying for 16th with a 17-over par total of 161.
Freshman Reece Whittemore (Deer Park/Deer Park) finished 20th with a final tally of 162 to finish 18-over par.
TLU returns to the course March 20-21 when they participate in the Hal Sutton Invitational at Centenary College Golf Club at Stonebridge in Bossier City, Louisiana.
