Maus, Carter Finish in Top Ten; Texas Lutheran Finishes Fourth at Texas Cup

PLANO, Texas -- Texas Lutheran's men's golf team earned a fourth-place finish out of a field of 17 teams at the Texas Cup at Watters Creek Golf Club in Plano, Texas, on Sunday. The Bulldogs would have two golfers finish in the top ten led by junior Chase Maus (Manor/Manor) who recorded a five-under par 72 to finish tied for second place in the individual standings with a 36-hole score of four-under par 144. This marks Maus's third top five finish this spring.

The Bulldogs closed the event with a round of 292, matching their opening round effort, to finish with a 36-hole total of 584, eight-over par. Host University of Texas-Dallas won the event with a 580 tally at the par-72 course.

Senior Cameron Carter (Rock Springs, Wyo./Kelly Walsh) would join Maus in the top ten posting a one-over total of 145 to finish tied for ninth place.

Matthew McArthur (New Braunfels/New Braunfels) signed for a 76 in his final round Sunday to finish at 149 and tied for 22nd.

Chandler Otto (Round Rock/Cedar Ridge) finished tied for 27th with a 36-hole score of 150, six-over par.

After an opening round 78, Tobey Wills (Richmond/Foster) closed with a 76 four-over par to finish at 154 to rise five spots and tie for 48th place.
