TLU Men's Golf closes out SCAC Conference Preview in fifth place
BLANCO, Texas -- Texas Lutheran Men's Golf closed out the 2020 SCAC Conference Preview with a fifth-place team finish Tuesday at Vaaler Creek Golf Club.
The Bulldogs improved on Monday's team score by four shots, posting a 297 after Monday's 301.
TLU finished three shots behind Mary Hardin-Baylor and Trinity. The Crusaders and the Tigers tied for third, at 595.
Southwestern won the tournament with a team score of 582. The Pirates closed with a 287. The team counted a 70, a 71, and two 73s toward its team score Tuesday.
Southwestern won by nine shots over McMurry (591).
TLU sophomore Chase Maus finished third overall individually after shooting a pair of 72s.
Matthew McArthur and Nathan Haley tied for 15th, and Cameron Carter and Evan Skaar tied for 31st and 56th, respectively.
TLU individual Chandler Otto finished eighth overall after rounds of 73 and 75. Fellow individual Garrett Coan finished in 27th after a 76 and a 77.
The Bulldogs' next tournament is the Dataw Island Invitational on Monday and Tuesday at Dataw Island, S.C.
