Chase Maus collects second SCAC Golfer of the Week award of 2019-20

SEGUIN, Texas -- Texas Lutheran sophomore Chase Maus (Manor/Manor) has been named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Golfer of the Week for a second team this fall season.

Maus has picked up three career SCAC Player of the Week awards. He had one in his freshman season.

This past Monday and Tuesday, Maus posted a sixth-place individual finish to lead TLU to a fifth-place team showing at the Chick-fil-A Collegiate Invitational at Stonebridge Golf Club in Rome, Ga.

To get into the top 10 in the individual standings (in a field of 101 golfers), Maus closed with a 75 on Tuesday after a 74 Monday. He posted a final total of 5-over-par 149.

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior Cade Osgood of Southwestern held steady with a 73 on both days, scoring a 146 with a team-high seven birdies at the ASC Preview in Brownwood, Texas. The senior All-American started strong, picking up three birdies in his first three holes. He failed to make up ground, however, bogeying twice on the front nine and twice on the back nine. Junior Bradley McCaleb of St. Thomas finished tied for 15th at the Wayland Baptist Invitational, which concluded on Tuesday. McCaleb had rounds of 72 and 71 and finished at 143 (+1) to lead the Celts.
