Bulldogs fire low round of the day, finish fifth at Alamo City Classic

SAN ANTONIO -- Texas Lutheran Men's Golf posted the low round of Tuesday's action, a 293, at the Trinity University Alamo City Classic and finished in a tie for fifth in the final team standings.
 
The Bulldogs ended the tournament with a 598 team total, a shot behind fourth-place Schreiner and four shots behind third-place Hardin-Simmons. TLU and LeTourneau tied for fifth.
 
Host team Trinity won the tournament with a 592, edging Mary Hardin-Baylor by a single shot.
 
University of Dallas (605), Houston-Victoria (605), Howard Payne (618), and Trinity "B" (620) rounded out the tournament finishers from seventh to 10th.

TLU's Chase Maus and Cameron Carter tied for 13th. Maus rebounded from a 7-over 78 on Monday to post a 1-under 70, which tied for the low individual round of the day. Carter followed Monday's 73 with a 75.
 
Matthew McArthur carded an even-par round of 71 and moved up to a tie for 17th. Nathan Haley and Evan Skaar tied for 31st overall. Haley and Skaar posted scores of 77 and 81, respectively, on Tuesday.
 
The Bulldogs will close out their 2019 fall schedule next Monday and Tuesday with the Berry College Chick-Fil-A Collegiate Invitational. The tournament will be played in Rome, Ga. at the Stonebridge Golf Club.
