McArthur in lead, Bulldogs third with round to play at Tempest Intercollegiate
GLADEWATER, Texas -- At the LeTourneau University Tempest Intercollegiate, Texas Lutheran's Matthew McArthur holds a one stroke lead in the race for the individual title, and the Bulldogs hold third position in the team race.
At Tempest Golf Club, McArthur posted a 75 and a 73 on Monday, and TLU turned in team scores of 313 and 304.
The Bulldogs are 13 shots behind first-day leader LeTourneau and three shots behind Tyler Junior College.
Ten teams are playing in the tournament.
McArthur holds a one shot lead over LeTourneau's Wes Nolen and Webster's Cole Pickett.
TLU's Chase Maus is 10th after scores of 78 and 74. Nathan Haley and Cameron Carter sit in a tie for 28th. Haley posted back-to-back 80s, and Carter recorded an 83 and a 77.
The Bulldogs' Evan Skaar is in a tie for 35th after rounds of 80 and 83.
The Tempest Intercollegiate concludes Tuesday with a final 18 holes at Tempest Golf Club.
