Day two of Texas Cup called off due to weather; Bulldogs, Maus finish second
PLANO, Texas -- The second round of the University of Texas at Dallas's Texas Cup was canceled due to weather on Sunday, and the first round results became the final results.
With the one round of scoring, the Texas Lutheran Bulldogs claimed a second-place team finish and a second-place individual showing from TLU freshman Chase Maus (Manor/Manor).
Maus tied for the individual lead after a round-one 71. Maus lost the individual title on a tie-breaker. He was named to the Texas Cup All-Tournament Team.
The Bulldogs posted a team score of 296 on Saturday and lost the team title by three shots to McMurry. The tournament was played at The Courses at Watters Creek (Traditions Course).
TLU's Colin Uecker (Kerrville/Tivy) tied for eighth after a 73, and Nathan Haley (Richmond/Foster) and Matthew McArthur (New Braunfels/New Braunfels) tied for 20th after each carded a 76.
The Bulldogs were one of 15 teams competing at the Texas Cup.
