Texas Lutheran Drops Home Contest to Colorado College

SEGUIN, Texas -- Despite 15 points and seven rebounds from Easton Allen (New Braunfels/Marion) and Texas Lutheran out-rebounding Colorado College 39-33, the Tigers outscored the Bulldogs 15-11 over the course of the final eight minutes to secure a 62-58 victory Sunday afternoon at Memorial Gymnasium.

Allen's 15 points on 6-of-9 shooting led the Bulldogs and he was joined in double figures by Xavier Phillips (Austin/Dripping Springs) and Semaj Edwards (Lanham, MD/Oak Hill Academy) who each finished with 10 points. Phillips and LaDarius King (Austin/St. Stephen's Episcopal) both dished a team-high five assists. Jordan Dunn (Del Valle/Del Valle) matched Easton Allen by grabbing a team-high seven rebounds off the bench.

Colorado College led for all but 32 seconds Sunday afternoon as they took a 35-29 lead into halftime and led for a majority of the second half aside from three ties forced in the second half by TLU, with the final tie coming at the 8:09 mark in the second half. Texas Lutheran would out score the Tigers 29-27 in the second half while shooting 46.2% from the field. 

Texas Lutheran hits the road for its next two games, beginning its final road trip of the 2024 regular season with a Friday night matchup against Austin College on Feb. 2. Tip-off is set for 6 PM in Sherman. All streaming and live stats links will be available on tlubulldogs.com.
