Last-second shot sends Pirates to 78-76 win over TLU

GEORGETOWN, Texas -- Kyle Poerschke hit a jumper with one second remaining in the second half to lift the Southwestern Pirates to a 78-76 home win over the Texas Lutheran Bulldogs.
 
Saturday at Southwestern's Robertson Center, Poerschke made the game-winner after TLU's Xavier Phillips tied the game with a layup with 19 seconds to play.
 
TLU fell to 2-4 overall and to 2-4 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.
 
Southwestern improved to 4-2 overall and to 4-2 in the SCAC.
 
TLU and Southwestern split the Friday-Saturday two-game set in Georgetown.

Poerschke led Southwestern with 19 points. He added six rebounds.
 
Calvin Williams and Trenton Garrett each scored 16.
 
Jamir Mason led TLU with 18. He also dished out six assists.
 
Caleb Lister registered 17 points and 11 rebounds.
 
TLU returns to action next Friday and Saturday with home games against the University of St. Thomas.
