Texas Lutheran extends win streak to six with 75-62 home win over Dallas

SEGUIN, Texas -- The Texas Lutheran Bulldogs extended their overall and conference win streaks to six games and improved to 7-1 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference with a 75-62 home win Friday over the University of Dallas.
 
TLU improved to 10-5 overall with the home win at Memorial Gymnasium.
 
Dallas dropped to 8-6 overall and to 4-3 in the SCAC. Friday's meeting was the first between the two clubs since they met in the SCAC Championship final last year. TLU won the championship game in double overtime on its home floor.
 
In this 2020 meeting, the Bulldogs trailed by two, 31-29, at the half but out-scored the Crusaders 46-31 in the second half.
 
TLU shot 50 percent (14-of-28) from the floor in the second half and held Dallas to 34.6 percent (9-of-26).
 
For the game, the Bulldogs made 11 of 26 three-point attempts. 
 
Sebastian Andrade and Jamir Mason each scored 18 for the Bulldogs. Mason made all three of his three-point attempts, and Andrade hit a pair of threes.
 
Caleb Lister contributed 15 points and nine rebounds. Mason pulled down eight rebounds and had five assists.
 
Jorden Kite added 12 points, six rebounds, and three assists. Kite also collected three steals.
 
Michael Wambsganss led Dallas with 15 points and seven rebounds. John Russell scored 10 and grabbed nine rebounds.
 
TLU returns to action Saturday afternoon with a 4 p.m. match-up with Austin College.
