Bulldogs' Sebastian Andrade named SCAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week

SEGUIN, Texas -- Texas Lutheran junior shooting guard Sebastian Andrade (El Paso/Americas) has been named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week after leading TLU to a pair of non-conference victories last week.
 
Andrade averaged 21.0 points and 8.0 rebounds last week in the home wins over McMurry and Hardin-Simmons.
 
In the 75-69 win over McMurry, Andrade recorded a double-double of 26 points and 10 rebounds.
 
In the Bulldogs' second victory of the week, 65-62 over Hardin-Simmons, Andrade added 16 points and six rebounds.
 
Andrade was 13-for-14 from the free throw line for the week.
 
Andrade is averaging 22.0 points and 8.0 rebounds through five games of the 2019-20 season.
 
The Bulldogs improved to 3-2 overall with the two wins last week.
 
The Bulldogs return to action on Dec.4 with a 6 p.m. home game against the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor.
 
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC: Sophomore Alex Dehoyos of Schreiner led the Mountaineers with an average of 29.0 points this week, highlighted by a 38-point performance in 90-80 loss to McMurry on Saturday...Sophomore Cameran Hyde of Dallas led the Crusders recording his first career double-double of 12 points and 11 rebounds in 44-point victory over Southwestern Adventist on Tuesday...Senior Cooxooeii Black of Colorado College led the Tigers with 20 points, scoring 17 in the second half for a 77-54 victory over Cal Lutheran...Senior Kennard Robinson of St. Thomas scored a team-high 16 points in leading the Celts to a 99-71 win over Arlington Baptist on Tuesday...Freshman Zac Black of Southwestern led the Pirates averaging 13 points-per-game on a 61.1 shooting percentage for the week.
