SEGUIN, Texas -- Mary Hardin-Baylor struck for four runs in the second inning and made its early lead hold up in a 5-4 upset win Tuesday night against sixth-ranked Texas Lutheran.
At TLU's Katt-Isbel Field, the Crusaders (10-24) snapped a six-game skid with the non-conference win.
The Bulldogs fell to 27-9 overall.
Caimyn Holiday delivered a two-run double in the second, and Jack Herbert had a two-run single, also in the second.
Andrew Hutchings moved to 3-1 with the win. He went two innings and allowed just one hit.
Chase Cutler (Georgetown/Eastview) took the loss for the Bulldogs. He dropped to 1-1.
Austin Colon (La Grange/La Grange), Cullen Motsinger (Houston/Cypress Ranch), and Blade Strzelczyk (San Antonio/East Central) collected RBI for TLU.
TLU returns to Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference action this Friday and Saturday with a three-game road series against Schreiner University in Kerrville, Texas.

Game one Friday in Kerrville starts at 2 p.m. Saturday's doubleheader is set for a noon start.
