Cheerleading

The Texas Lutheran University Cheerleaders and Mascot are part of the Texas Lutheran University Athletics Department. The Cheerleaders are dedicated to encouraging and promoting school spirit and boosting school pride. The squad participates at all home (and selected away) football and basketball games, including all playoff events, as well as various school activities and events in the community representing TLU.

2024-2025 TLU Cheer Tryout information

Open Gyms will be held at TLU on for current TLU Student May 24 and May 25 graduates:

March 22 4:30pm-6:30pm April 13 1:00pm-3:00pm

All students that tryout must be admitted to TLU.

Important Dates:

TLU Deposit and New Student Registration Form must be submitted by May 10, 2024.

TLU Cheer will be required to attend clinic and camp Aug 14-16, 2024.

A cheer of your choice! Any cheer is fine. We are looking to judge your Motions, technique, projection, and performance ability.
3 Jumps. A Toetouch, a Pike, and a Hurdler.

Mascot
1. All applicants will submit a short skit with a minimum of mascot head, full body optional.
2. Applicants may answer a series of questions from the judges.
3. All applicants’ scores are based on enthusiasm, originality, creativity and exaggeration of movements.

Judged but not required.....

Any stunting skills.
- Please identify your position in the stunt.
- If you have multiple skilled positions, then please send multiple stunts.

Any Tumbling skills!
- Please send both standing and running skills on a dead mat or grass/turf surface.
