SCAC's current fan policy to remain in effect for remainder of year, including championship play

(Revised to emphasize the fact that TLU Men's and Women's Track & Field student-athletes may have up to four family members/friends at the 2021 SCAC Men's and Women's Track & Field Championships, hosted by TLU at Bulldog Stadium. Those family members/friends must be on the TLU student-athlete pass list for entry into the track & field championships. Non-TLU spectators are not allowed at the track & field championships.)

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -- The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference office announced today the league's current fan policy will remain in effect throughout the remainder of the 2020-21 academic year, including during championship play.

As has been the case throughout the 2020-21 academic year, the league's current policy related to all indoor events remains in effect. Therefore, no fans will be permitted during any round of the SCAC Volleyball Championship.

TLU Women's Volleyball plays against Southwestern University at 6:30 p.m. Friday in Georgetown, Texas. The match is a quarterfinal round contest of the SCAC Volleyball Championship. TLU is the No. 6 seed. Southwestern is the No. 3 seed. No spectators of any team will be allowed.

If an institution scheduled to host a championship event currently does not permit visitors on its campus, it remains conference policy that fans will not be permitted at that particular championship.

As it stands, Trinity University does not permit visitors on its campus. Therefore, there will not be fans permitted at this year's SCAC Men's and Women's Tennis Championships.

As for other outdoor championships scheduled to be hosted on SCAC campuses, institutions who currently allow fans from within their own campus - including staff and students and/or family and friends of student-athletes from their own teams - will be permitted to continue this practice during outdoor championship competitions.

Additionally, and consistent with the league's current policy, no spectators of visiting teams and/or non-host teams will be permitted to attend any on-campus championship event

Championships that will operate within these guidelines include: men's soccer (Centenary), women's soccer (Texas Lutheran), softball (Schreiner), men's and women's track & field (Texas Lutheran), men's lacrosse (Colorado College), and women's lacrosse (Dallas).

TLU Women's Soccer plays Centenary College (La.) in an SCAC Championship quarterfinal match at 3 p.m. Saturday in Shreveport, La. No TLU fans will be allowed entry into the quarterfinal match.

For the SCAC Women's Soccer Championship semifinals and final, the three matches hosted by TLU on April 23 and April 24, non-TLU spectators will not be allowed into Gustafson Field.

For the SCAC Men's and Women's Track & Field Championships, hosted by TLU on April 24 and April 25, non-TLU spectators will not be allowed into Bulldog Stadium and the adjoining field event competition areas.

TLU Men's and Women's Track & Field parents/family/friends (up to four per TLU student-athlete) will be allowed into the stadium for the SCAC Men's and Women's Track & Field Championships.

Those interested in a particular institution's process should contact the applicable athletic department or visit each of the conference members' athletics websites.

Championships that have been scheduled for neutral, off-campus sites - in men's and women's golf and baseball - will permit fans per the rules and regulations established by the host facility (in consultation with the conference) as well as within any standards and guidelines provided by local health authorities.

Additional information will be available on site for these venues, and patrons at each event will be expected to abide by the established standards.
