TLU presents Capt. Wesley Hensley with funds raised from 'Change for the Better'

SEGUIN, Texas – Texas Lutheran's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee presented Seguin Fugitive Apprehension Unit Capt. Wesley Hensley of the Texas Office of the Attorney General with the donations collected during the "Change for the Better" campaign.

TLU's "Change for the Better" donations assisted Hensley in his recovery from an on-duty shooting in December of 2018. Hensley was shot nine times. He had surgery on both arms and spent four weeks in the hospital and in a rehabilitation facility.

Hensley is a resident of Guadalupe County, where TLU is located. Seguin is the county seat of Guadalupe County.

TLU SAAC President Kasey Hairell and TLU Director of Athletics Bill Miller presented Hensley with a check for $588.61.

TLU's SAAC was named the winner of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference's 2019 "Change For The Better" campaign. Among the conference's members, TLU raised the most money for a chosen cause. It marked the third time in four years that the TLU SAAC earned top honors.
